Well, Elf Lettuce at the Cardinal Bar produced no video. I forgot my camera, reminded a friend to bring theirs, and then became disenchanted with the whole spectacle. Madison's had room. I'm all for a crowded, sweaty dance party, but those are hard to pull off correctly if the room is lit up like a jewelry store and the principle language is English. Also, the fact that everywhere you look you see you looking back through the mirrors is a little creepy. If the room's gonna be a shotgun shack, decorate it like one, not a hair salon. This set up is probably perfect for the majority of the Cardinal's patrons and the functions they attend, but Madison's had a slightly less out-of-place feel for a GD jam band. In terms of the muzik, Elf Lettuce ripped as usual. It's a great thing to scan each member of a band and watch them work their ass off while another member's taking a long and loud solo. All of 'em get the job done, and that's what make it fun.
So alls I gots coming up is Umphrey's and then Steez on Thursday, but I did just catch word that Simon and Garfunkel will be squeezing Madison in on a strange tour.
Also, perhaps some interesting jazz and bluegrass I have yet to listen to...
